Yesterday I was looking at potential homes for us in Cleveland, just trying to get a sense of what kind of homes are available that might be in our price range. Zoe saw one that she liked, most likely because it featured a purple bedroom that could be hers. I explained to her that it might not be available when it's time for us to move.
"Will you call them and tell them to put some cones around it?" she asked.
"Some cones, so no one else will buy it." Oh. I had worried about equity, interest rates, property taxes, maintenance, and she has a simple solution. I tried to explain these things to her, but she went on chomping down a cheese stick, less than alarmed.
And she's right, not me. We'll be fine. We have always and will always have a roof over our head, food to eat, and relative comfort - and we should give him thanks, because God is good.
"Trust in the Lord and do good,
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture;
delight yourself in the Lord
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteousness
shine like the dawn -
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun." Psalm 37:3-6
As we prepare to move in June, do pray for us that I especially will seek faithfulness not success, and righteousness above ease. We are thankful for your prayers, and we do plan to keep our friends updated on our journey to Cleveland.
